 THIS YEARS SPEAKERS

Johnathan Stanko Keynote Speaker

We are blessed to have Johnathan with us again this year. “I Grew up in a Christian home but I wasn’t a Christian until God spared my life from drugs and alcohol. He Reminded me that’s not who He created me to be, my identity is in Christ. After spending time in Teen Challenge, God changed my heart and mind, and gave me purpose, and direction. There is no greater joy than sharing with others the power of the gospel.”

Have been part of Romans12two for three years now. This is the first year Speaking at the event. They are parents to two kids. Cody (Married to Sammie) and Daughter Samantha (Grandson Ezekiel) They were youth Pastors in Mesa county for several years before making their home in Montezuma County where,  Shane is a full time Pastor at Mesa Trails Church in Mancos, CO  “We are very excited to be able to speak truth to our students.  The world we live in is full of information, and it can be hard to figure out what is truth and what isn’t.  We believe that only the truth presented in the bible has stood the test of time and God presents us with an absolute truth as to who we are.”

Matt Royston- Identity
If you would have told me when I was in high school that someday I would be a pastor, I would have thought you were out of your mind.  Not only did I hate talking in front of people, I really didn’t understand much about the church or why it seemed so important to some people.  I also wasn’t sure I wanted my identity to be tied to a religious organization.  Back then, I was more interested in being known as a nice guy who was going to have some sort of positive impact on the world. As time went on, I had a deeper desire to understand exactly what my purpose was.  I figured that God created me for some reason, and I didn’t want to live my life without figuring out what that reason was.  For me, this search for purpose has led to becoming a pastor. But that’s not true for everyone. Your purpose is probably different from mine.  And the beauty is, God desires to use all of us in the plan He has to fix this broken world. For us to find our role in God’s plan, we need to first understand who we are.  That’s the question of Identity, and this is what we will be considering in my breakout sessions.

In a world that is pulling at our kids and telling them how to live, Romans 12:2 calls us to live differently. We seek God’s direction for our Youth!!
Movies, TV, social media, and advertising beat a consistent message: be conformed to be cool.
You have to look a certain way, dress a certain way, act a certain way, or you will be marginalized.

We invite you to consider your destiny. Who are you supposed to be, really? Are you created to be something better…something different…than what others want you to be?
